Q: How do I log in/log off?
A: Please use the "LOGON"/"LOGOFF" links on the top navigation for your logging needs.

Q: How do I change my password?
A:

  • Click on "MY ACCOUNT" link, located on the right-hand side of the top navigation. If you're currently logged off, a window will come up asking you to log on. Please log on. You'll be taken to your profile.
  • Click on the "change password" link, located on the right of the "Info:" heading.
  • Follow instructions on the screen. And, don't forget to click the "Save Changes" button.
  • Q: How do I retrieve my password if I forget it?
    A:

  • Click on "LOGON" link, located on the right-hand side of the top navigation.
  • When the Log On screen comes up, click on "forgot your password?" link, located right above the "logon" button.
  • You will be offered two (2) options on how to retrieve your password.
  • Option 1: "E-mail my password to me"

  • Enter your CollegeClub username.
  • Click on the "submit" button.
  • Your password will be sent to your alternate e-mail address that you provided when you registered.
  • Option 2: "Reset My Password"

  • Enter your CollegeClub username and birthday.
  • Click on the "submit" button.
  • You will then be asked to provide the Hint Answer to the Hint Question you chose during registration.
  • Enter and re-type your new password as requested.
  • Click on the "Reset My Password!" button.
  • Q: How can I delete my account?
    A: To delete your account, follow these instructions:

  • Log on into your profile ("My Account" link on the top navigation)
  • Click on the "delete account" link above your name
  • Type in your password
  • Click on the "Delete Account" button
  • Please know that we're in the process of launching new and improved functionalities, more content, new ways to meet other students, attend movie premieres, and win tons of free stuff. And, if you decide to leave, but change your mind later on, shoot us an email at membersupport@staff.collegeclub.com and we'll re-open your account, no questions asked.

    Q: How do I get around the site?
    A: If, for some reason, you don't find the top navigation useful, below is a list of quick links you may want to try:

    Q: How do I check my mail?
    A: Use the "MAIL" button, located on the top navigation, or click here, to be directed to the Mail page. You will be asked to log on if you're currently logged off. You must be logged on to use Mail. From there, you will have options to:

  • Go to your Inbox
  • Compose a new message
  • Check Club Mail
  • View your stored Addresses
  • Administer Folders
  • Change user Options
  • View Sent Messages
  • Finish your Drafts
  • ...or put 'em in the Trash
  • Q: How do I filter out spam from my mailbox?
    A: There are two ways to do this: Blocking and Filtering.

    Use filtering when you want all mail that has a certain word in the sender or subject line to go to a designated folder; you can have mail with the word "Fwd" directed straight to your Trash. To do this click on "Options" on the left-hand side of the Mail page, and then click on "Mail Filters". Follow the directions and create some filters!

    Use blocking when you want to stop a specific e-mail address from sending you spam. Click on "Options" on the left-hand side of the Mail page, and then click on "Blocked Addresses". Add the guilty e-mail addresses to your blocked list, and you won't receive mail from them anymore. You may also block a specific e-mail address while reading the mail from them, just click on the "Block Sender" link next to their e-mail address. You'll be taken to the Blocked Addresses page.

    Q: Why does the Control Panel launch when I log on?
    A: It's for your convenience:

  • Every 15 seconds, it checks for new Instant Messages
  • Every 5 minutes, it checks for new Mail
  • Every 5 minutes, it checks to see which of your Buddies are online
  • You may minimize the Control Panel so it's not in the way of your browsing the site, however, it has to stay open in order to remain active and fully functional. You may also opt out of this feature by un-checking the "Launch this window automatically on LogOn" option on the bottom of the control panel.


    CHAT

    Q: How can I join a chat room?
    A: Use the "CHAT" button, located on the top navigation, or click here, to be directed to the CHAT page. From there, you may join any of the listed Chat Rooms, by clicking on the one you want. You may also Chat in the Lounge, click on the "Launch Chat" or "Lounge", or click here.


    CLUBS

    Q: How can I join a Club?
    A: Use the "CLUBS" button, located on the top navigation, or click here, to be directed to the CLUBS page. From there, you may click on the "Launch Clubs" link or choose one of the categories listed there. Once you choose a category, you will be taken to a page with a list of clubs in that category. However, you may also choose a subcategory to see a list of clubs specific to that sub-topic. Click on the name of the club you'd like to join to go to that club's homepage. To join, click on the "Join this Club" link.

    Q: How can I join a Club that is marked "Private"?
    A: You have to know the password to join "Private" Clubs, which are usually set by the Club host(s). You may ask the host(s) for permission to join the Club and for the password. To do so:

  • Once at the "Private" Club's homepage, click on the "e-mail the host(s)" link
  • You will be taken to the Mail page where you can e-mail the host(s) with an inquiry
  • If you know the password, you will be prompted to enter it on the "Private" Club's homepage.

    Q: How can I get added to Clubs without my permission? How can I remove myself?
    A: By default, your account is set to allow other people to add you to Clubs without your permission. If you'd like to change this preference, just click on "MY ACCOUNT" located on the top navigation bar to launch your profile window. You will be asked to log on if you're currently logged off, in which case you will have to click on "MY ACCOUNT" link again to launch your profile window. From there, click on "My Clubs" button to see your Clubs preferences. In "My Club Options" section, you will be able to make changes to whether or not people can add you to Clubs without your permission and how your Club memberships are displayed.

    If you want to remove yourself from a Club, just go to the "Clubs" area of the site and click on "My Clubs". You are required to be logged on in order to see your Clubs. If you are, you will be able to click on the "View all my Clubs" link on the left-hand side. Click "unjoin" to remove yourself from any Club, or "delete" if you are the Club's host, in which case you will delete the Club altogether.

    Q: How do I create a Club?
    A: Use the "CLUBS" button, located on the top navigation, or click here, to be directed to the CLUBS page. From there, you may click on the "Create a Club" link and follow the instructions on the screen. If you want to create a "Private" Club just for you and a close circle of friends, don't forget to enter the Club password!


    BOARDS

    Q: How do I find boards?
    A: Use the "BOARDS" button, located on the top navigation, or click here, to be directed to the BOARDS page. From there, you may either click on the "Launch Boards" link or choose one of the categories listed. Once on a "Categories" page, browse until you find a Board that suits your interest.

    Q: How do I create a Message Board?
    A: Use the "LOGON" link on the top navigation (You have to be logged on with your CollegeClub username, before you can create a Message Board). Once you're logged on to a specific Board, you will see a "Create Board" link on top of that Board page. Click on "Create Board" link, and you will be taken to "Create Board" page. Enter "Board Name" and "Description" into the related fields. Click on "Create Board" button. And, please review the Terms of Use prior to creating a new Message Board.

    Q: How do I post a message on the Message Board?
    A: You must be logged on to post messages on the message boards. Use the "LOGON" link on the top navigation, to log on. Then, use the "BOARDS" button, located on the top navigation, or click here, to be directed to the BOARDS page. From there, you may either click on the "Launch Boards" link or choose one of the categories listed. Once on a "Categories" page, navigate to a Board that suits your interest where you will be able to add your message. Click on the "Post Message" button to submit your post.

    Q: How can I contact the person who posted a message that interests me?
    A: You may first like to find out more about them. To see that user's profile, click on their username. To e-mail them directly from the Board, click on the "envelope" icon next to their username. A Mail page will open up with pre-filled in fields. To IM the user, click on the "IM" button, located on the top navigation.

    Q: How do I report abuse on boards?
    A: Please send an email to abuse@staff.collegeclub.com providing us with as many specifics as possible such as the url where the offensive content exists, message board name, username of the content originator, etc.
