Give Spinning a Spin
You don't have to be Lance Armstrong to get yourself in gear!

With the incredible success of Lance Armstrong's seven Tour de France wins (and engagement to super songstress, Sheryl Crow), it's no wonder why spinning, also known as indoor cycling, is gaining legions of fans (and Lance wannabes) in gyms all across the country.

Needless to say, I was psyched about my first spinning class. In my mind, I was so ready -- a motivated spinning machine. But for some reason I left feeling, well, not much -- until the next day when my butt was killing.

I was disappointed by the locker room buzz about spinning. Each day after class, the chatter persisted, but I steered clear of the classes. Then, I had what I thought was only polite, harmless locker room chitchat about make-up with this really nice girl. When the topic somehow turned to spinning, I told her I wasn't really into it and how I had a really hard time in class. "Come take my class. All that will change," she said. "It's the instructor and the soundtrack. Trust me." I accepted the invitation with as much faux enthusiasm as I could muster. A few weeks later, my personal spinning addiction with Megan Connor began.
